It’s that time of year again; time to check out the latest version of QuickBooks and what it can offer you. Here are some highlights that caught our eye in the latest version of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 2019. We’ll touch on how the improvements will help you fulfill faster with accurate inventory, improve cash flow, manage data more efficiently, and increase productivity.
Invoice Status Tracker
This feature, available in Pro, Premier, and Enterprise, provides real-time visibility of invoice status in order to expedite collections. Intuit has added a link on invoices which allows you to see the invoice history. If you email directly from QuickBooks or if your customers pay you online through credit cards, you will be able to see the status on the invoice instead of having to click the history tab as in previous versions. Note: this viewable status is only available with webmail services like Gmail or Yahoo, or Outlook.
Transfer Credits
This new feature allows for simplified one-click transfer of credits across customer jobs for streamlined workflow. You can now quickly and easily transfer customer credits across jobs, and your clients can transfer customer credits without needing special knowledge of accounting to do so.
Checks to Bill Pay
The Checks to Bill Pay feature allows for visibility of unpaid vendor bills for easily managed payments. The change is that QuickBooks now prompts and guides you to check any open bills and shows only open bills for that vendor, for quick access.
Data File Optimization
This is a simple, self-serve solution that allows you to reduce the size of your company file by about 30%, and helps improve file reliability, without deleting older records.
Intuit Data Protect
This update makes automatic data backups more reliable and easy. It automatically backs up data faster and with more reliability, makes you more aware of the need to back-up and restore data, and provides actionable messaging of backup failures to help improve reliability.
Inactive Items in Inventory Reports
Due to a new filter to include and exclude inactive inventory items you will now get an up-to-date assessment of inventory. Now, by using a check box, you can include or exclude inactive inventory items in the valuation reports.
Robust .IIF File Import
The improved IIF importing checks the data before importing and generates a report of issues, if the import failed. Additionally, you are able to easily fix and reimport records, and .iif files can now be imported in multi user mode.
Enhanced Pick, Pack, and Ship (Enterprise - Platinum Edition Only)
This update allows for easy and accurate management of the sales order fulfillment process from a central dashboard as well as mobile devices. The dashboard tracks sales order lifecycle from start to finish, and shipment tracking is integrated into QuickBooks.
Manage Payroll Permissions (Enterprise - Platinum Edition Only)
QuickBooks allows you to set individual user roles and permissions for more than 115 different activities, which now includes payroll. You can prevent unauthorized access and protect sensitive information with explicit permissions.
