Brooklyn's powerHouse Books reached out to Enix & Associates, one of nation's top QuickBooks Resellers, to assist with rebuilding the store's infrastructure. In addition to merchandise and property damage, the store's QuickBooks Point of Sale system had been destroyed by nearly 38 inches of flood water.
"I got a call around 3:30 Monday afternoon while driving to a client meeting," said David. "In short, the bookstore had major flood damage from Hurricane Sandy. Daniel Power, the owner, ordered replacement computers & POS hardware from another vendor, but they could not be delivered fast enough. So he contacted Intuit who then called us because they know we can just make things happen."
After a 4-way call with Daniel, Intuit?s internal team and Enix & Associates staff, a package containing several computers, monitors and POS peripheral hardware and supplies was on it's way via FedEx in less than one hour. The new POS system arrived in Brooklyn at 10:39 a.m. Tuesday morning. Daniel summed it up like this on Wednesday, ?David thanks for your help. It was a life saver.?
Daniel continued in a Sandy Hates Books blog post, "Behind all the fun stuff in a bookstore (ahem, the books) there is a POS system that keeps the whole operation running. Ours was damaged in the storm?shout out and major thanks to David Enix at Enix Associates, for getting us a replacement POS system stat. Booksellers and small business owners, take note!"
"I'm very proud of my staff and the way they responded to this time sensitive situation. We're happy to help Daniel and looking forward to meeting him in person the next time we visit New York City," David said.
Enix & Associates' thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy.
